Custom Vinyl Installation in Seattle, WA

Hello business owners! Do you ever feel like your office is a fishbowl? Lots of glass throughout the office and you feel like you are just stuck there. No privacy, no aesthetics, nothing. Just plan, boring glass. If so, we are here to tell you that you aren't alone in feeling his way. A lot of new and modern offices are being built with more and more glass because it does have a really clean look and it can be aesthetically pleasing. While some people do like the look of a lot of glass in their office, a lot of people do not for the reasons I just mentioned. The owner of this company was in the same boat as those of you who aren't a huge fan of a lot of glass throughout the office.

Not only did he not like the lack of privacy, but he also didn't like how cold and uninviting the office was. The business owner has a glass company, a contractor and a designer that they work with all the time for their office projects. Solar Art is lucky enough to do a lot of work with this glass company, so when they heard the customer was looking for increased privacy and added design, they immediately thought of Solar Art's custom vinyl and brought the idea to the customer. The customer agreed that custom vinyl would be a good fit, which is how we got this job. The office already had bids drawn up of the floors, glass, and spaces they were looking for custom graphics. The customer's main priority for this job was to increase privacy, but also add color and a cool custom design to their office!

Solar Art's Goals

Solar Art's role in this project was a little more complex than other installations. We worked closely with the glass company, the contractor, and the designer to ensure the customer was happy and got exactly what they were looking for. Our first goal was to work with the designer to come up with a custom design the customer would like for their office glass. Once that goal was accomplished, our next goal was to help the customer figure out which window film product would work best for their project.

Big projects like these that include a construction zone are really fun for Solar Art to do, and they are a team effort without a doubt. Our sales representative went back and forth and met with the glass company, contractor, and designer multiple times. Our in-house graphics team also worked closely on this job. Due to construction, glass sized ended up changing a little bit, which meant our sales representative needed to work closely with the glass company and the contractor to get the exact measurements of the glass. Exact glass sizes are needed when working with the designer and when it comes time for our in-house graphics team to print the custom vinyl.

Solar Art's Suggestions

After working with the glass company, general contractor, and designer, our sales representative and in-house graphics team suggested the customer use a product called Lintec E2000ZC for the custom vinyl. Our sales representative suggested this product because it's an affordable product that is easy for installation. Custom vinyl installations are cool because there are so many different products and routes you can go. Our sales representative suggested this product after hearing the customer's goals and talking with everyone working on the project. Our in-house graphics team also played a big role in this project. Our graphics team worked with the designer to create the design for the custom vinyl. Our graphics team produced different proofs of what the custom vinyl would look like for the customer to approve.

What the Customer Chose

Ultimately, the customer decided to go with the product Solar Art suggested. They chose this product because it was the most affordable option, which was helpful because of how large of a project this was. The customer also decided to go with this product because it works well when it comes to the installation. After seeing the different proofs, the customer chose the one they felt would be the best fit for their office. Once the proofs were approved, our next step was to color match. The customer knew the colors they wanted the custom vinyl to be, so we had to match their pan tone colors. Again, this required constant communication between our graphics team and the designer. Once the proofs were approved and the colors were matched, we were ready to go with the installation! When it comes to custom vinyl and custom graphics, our in-house graphics team works with you every step of the way. Whether you know exactly what you're looking for or you have no idea, we got your back. We are here to make your vision come to life and to ensure you get exactly what you're looking for.

Results of the Installation

This project ended up being big. The customer decided to have the custom vinyl installed across four floors. The project ended up being 97 windows in total and 3,603 square feet. It took two installers five days to finish this installation. Since this was a graphics job, our in-house graphics department was heavily involved. We asked our graphics manager what his overall thoughts were on the project. He said: "When it comes to projects this size, there is a lot of communication needed between Solar Art and the designers to make the images perfect for the installation. When the job was complete, the install looked great and matched the proofs, which was my main focus. Overall, it was a great project that helped show what Solar Art is capable of doing when it comes to custom vinyl and custom graphics."

Like I said earlier, Solar Art loves projects like this. We love working as a team to accomplish the goal. It's also fun for us to come up with and print cool custom vinyl designs just like this. the customer was really pleased with the outcome of the installation.
