Ceramic Window Tint at a Home in Los Angeles, California

Solar Art installed a ceramic window tint to a home in Los Angeles, California! The home has beautiful views of the Los Angeles hills that are hard to come by. To capitalize on the views as much as possible, there are large floor to ceiling windows in every single room of the house. The homeowner wanted to be able to look out and see the views from all parts of the home. With that being said, the homeowner was experiencing the trifecta of problems that comes with a ton of sun and natural light. They were having problems with high heat, high glare, and they were also worried about sun fading. They did research on window treatments that help with heat, glare, and sun fading and found window film on Solar Art’s website. The homeowner decided to request a free consultation to learn more about window film and see if it would be a good fit for their home!

Solar Art's Goals

Solar Art’s goals for this installation was to meet with the homeowner at the home to take a look at the windows that were causing the problems and help the homeowner find a solution and the best window film for them and their needs. Our sales representative went out to the home to take exact measurements, show samples, and learn about what their specific goals are. When our sales representative met with the customer he learned that the customer’s number one priority is not to lose any of their views outside and to not change the aesthetics of the home. Not changing the aesthetics of the home is important to the customer because they weren’t sure that they wanted window film installed to every single window in the home and they didn’t want a messy or non-uniform look from the exterior. They were in the market for a window film that would help reduce heat, reduce glare, and protect against sun fading without changing the aesthetics of their home or hinder any views outside.

Solar Art's Recommendations

After talking with the customer and hearing what their goals were and what they were looking for specifically, our sales representative had a few recommendations. He instantly thought of the Huper Optik ceramic line as an option. He thought of ceramic window tint because it contains no metals or dyes, which keeps the aesthetics the same and rejects a high amount of heat and glare. Our sales representative also suggested a few other window film lines including 3M Prestige window film.

What the Customer Chose

After speaking with our sales representative, hearing what his suggestions are, and seeing different window film samples, the customer decided to go with a Huper Optik window film option. Specifically, the customer chose Ceramic 60. The main reason that the customer chose a ceramic window tint is because of the visibility it allows outside and the fact that it isn’t going to drastically change the look of the home. They can easily install it to only the problematic windows to fix their heat and glare problems. The ceramic window film the customer chose is going to block 43% of heat, 34% of glare, and 99% of UVA and UVB rays from entering the home. Blocking 43% of heat is going to make the home significantly cooler without having to use the air conditioner. Your home will be more comfortable and energy efficient! Blocking 34% of glare will make activities like watching TV and working on computers and laptops much easier and more comfortable. The 99% of UVA and UVB rays we just talked about are the leading cause of sun fading. Blocking 99% of them is going to extend the lifespan of the furniture, belongings, and floor in the home!

Results of the Window Film Installation

The customer was really excited about installing ceramic window tint and decided to install it to the problem causing windows in the family room, living room, kitchen, and master bedroom. The installation ended up being 455 square feet and took a team of installers one full day to complete. The customer was happy with how the installation turned out because they were able to install it to only the problem causing windows and their home still had a uniform look. They were also able to keep all of their views outside while reducing heat, reducing, glare, blocking ultraviolet rays, and ultimately making the home more comfortable to be in. In addition to ceramic window tint and solar film, Solar Art also services decorative window film, custom graphics, anti graffiti film, window security film, and exterior window film.
